Ask yourself these three questions:

NOW HIRING Sign from our friends at Radwell International, Inc.

  1. What is the purpose of your sign? First of all, this may seem obvious, but it is essential to begin your creation process. Planning out your content before starting is smart especially if you want to ensure you include all the right information to attract the customers you want.
  2. Will it be visually appealing? – Who wants to look at an ugly sign? A visually appealing sign should be easy to read and understand. Include all the information you need, but without making it too cluttered. We recommend using one font. If the sign needs to be viewed from a distance, consider the font size being used.  Here is a quick guide for reference: Letter Visibility Chart. For more in depth reading, check out USSC Sign Legibility Rules of Thumb HERE.  The use of color and format will be important to help your sign stand out and attract attention. As a result, more business!
  3. Will it be consistent with your branding? Finally, your brand must remain consistent while getting your message across. Existing customers should be able to look at your sign and identify it with your brand. For new customers, your consistency helps make it clear who you are and what you do. Since you only have a few seconds to capture a customer’s attention, every detail must be taken to into account to attract a sale and not lose one.
